Meet the Director of CLC Bold, Laura Brand Sias
I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to introduce you to both myself and the CLC Bold family! My name is Laura Brand Sias and I am the Director of CLC Bold and Girls Lacrosse at Centercourt Gillette. I came to Centercourt in March of 2020 after a 20-year Division 1 coaching career. My passion for lacrosse came at a young age while growing up in Radnor, PA. My high school athletic career included 12 varsity letters in field hockey, winter track and lacrosse. After high school I went on to play at Rutgers University. As a starting midfielder I helped nurture a program that went from being unknown, to the #10 team in the nation by the end of my senior year. After graduation I stayed on as the assistant coach at Rutgers while also continuing my playing career with the Canadian National Team. While with Team Canada I participated as a starting midfielder in the World Cup in England and went on with the team until a knee injury ended my international career. In 2002 I was named the Head Coach at Fairfield University and was the youngest Division 1 Head Coach in the NCAA across all sports. After my time with Fairfield, I returned to Rutgers as the Head Coach and remained there for 17 seasons before retiring from college coaching to focus on my young family. During my time as a college coach, I mentored numerous All American, All Region, All Big East and All Big Ten players while coaching Top 20 teams through multiple seasons. My proudest accolade, however, is my program’s record-breaking streak of perfect NCAA Academic Progress Reports and IWLCA Academic Team awards.
My passion for the sport of lacrosse remains and I am blessed to be able to mentor young players both on and off the field and provide them with the tools to succeed at the next level… whatever that next level may be! My experience at the highest levels as both player and coach, coupled with my connections and recruiting experience, allow me to advise and mentor any players interested in playing in college. As a full-time working mother to 3 small children, I strive to be the example to our young female athletes that you can indeed “have it all”!
