Sixes is an incredibly fast-paced, compact version of lacrosse, combining the most exciting elements of the more traditional disciplines. It is characterized by an accelerated, open style of play with quick transitions and non-stop, high-scoring action. The 6 v 6 format (5 field players and a GK) emphasizes skills where every player is involved. This is the version of lacrosse that will be introduced in the 2028 Olympics!
Each team must have a minimum number of 8 players including their own Goalkeeper.
Format:
~Each game will be 4-8 min quarters running clock
~A draw will be taken at the start of each quarter only
~GK will start play with a clear after a goal
~:30 sec shot clock
~No specific “positions”, just runners and a goalie
~No off-sides
