DIRECTOR OF FLAG FOOTBALL – MT. OLIVE
My favorite sports memory/moment/event is…. My favorite sports memories bring me back to playing High School Football in Mount Olive. I moved to Mt. Olive only weeks before my Freshman year in high school. I did not know anyone in the town or the school. The thing that truly integrated me into the town was becoming of member of the football team. As difficult as it was, football and the camaraderie on the team allowed me to make friendships immediately, some of which I still have today. There was nothing like “Friday Night Lights”, team dinners and wearing your jersey to school on Fridays. Those memories have still stayed with me today and are a big reason why I continue to have such a passion for organized team sports.
RJ Casendino grew up in Morristown, New Jersey where he played football for the Morristown Jr. Colonials from the age of 9. In 1998, he moved to Budd Lake and attended Mount Olive High School from 1998-2002. While at Mount Olive, he played football and baseball all four years.
RJ attended Faireigh Dickinson University in Madison from 2002-2005 majoring in Sociology and Psychology. In 2005 he was hired by the Fairfield Police Department as a police dispatcher. He remains there today as a Lieutenant in charge of the Townships Office of Emergency Management.
