Ilyar Khammadov

My favorite sports event/moment/memory is… being a part of organizing Pro-Am events during the US Open, where I had an incredible opportunity to meet and share the court with tennis legends like Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, James Blake, Mats Wilander, and many more. This experience of meeting and playing alongside the players I looked up to as a kid is a memory I will never forget.

As the Director of Racquet Sports at CenterCourt Marlboro, Khammadov brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles, including coaching and program management at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and directing the High-Performance Program at Cunningham Tennis Center. Originally from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, he has had the privilege of developing players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to ITF and national-level competitors.

Khammadov is certified as a USPTA “Elite” Professional and holds additional certifications in USTA Player Development High Performance, Sports Science, USTA ROGY, Cardio Tennis, and Etcheberry Strength and Conditioning. His coaching philosophy emphasizes a holistic approach, focusing equally on technical and tactical skills, athletic development, and mental skills to create a complete performer.

His main areas of expertise include biomechanics, teaching progressions tailored to individual and group needs, developing learning pathways that help players progress and master their game. He is passionate about creating an environment where players can grow both on and off the court.

His favorite quote, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care,” reflects his belief in the importance of building trust and strong relationships with his players, which he sees as key to their success.
