Chris Blough

DIRECTOR OF BOYS LACROSSE & CO-DIRECTOR OF FLAG FOOTBALL – MT. OLIVE

My favorite sports memory/moment/event is…while it is hard to choose from many exciting games and championships while coaching, my most memorable times were with my dad. He helped start the youth program in Roxbury in 1993 when I was in 8th grade. As freshman we entered our first ever varsity season. We got shut out in our first game. The day after my dad took me to the field to shoot bounce shots for a while. The next game I scored the first goal in school history doing the same thing. He helped teach me the importance of the fundamentals, working hard, and having fun.

I’ll also never forget the 2021 season when I was at Roxbury. He agreed to help me out when we needed an assistant coach. We didn’t have the best record, but we had a great time together. He helped remind me why I love to coach.

Chris Blough is a Mount Olive resident who brings over 20 years of coaching experience to Centercourt Mount Olive. He is currently the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach at Mount Olive High School where, in his first year in 2022, his team went 13-5 and won the NJAC United Division Championship.

Prior to Mount Olive, Blough led the Roxbury High School boys lacrosse team from 2014-2021. In that time his teams won 4 division titles. In 2017, Roxbury went 19-4, appeared in the Morris County Tournament semifinals, and the North Group 3 finals for the first time in school history.

From 2011-2013, Blough was head coach of Lakeland Regional High School, his first head coaching position. He took over a 2nd year program that was 2-16 in their first year and went 14-4 in 2011. In his 3 years at Lakeland, his teams won their first division title in 2012 and first Passaic County Tournament championship in 2013.

Blough also has 12 years of club lacrosse experience, including his last role as director for the last 4 years.

Chris will bring his passion for lacrosse to Centercourt Mount Olive. His goal is to implement programming that focuses on helping local youth and high school players and organizations improve by continuing to build relationships with coaches and program leaders.
