Myia Williams holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Mitchell College and combines her experience as a collegiate athlete, coach, and professional graphic designer with a passion for mentoring young athletes. In addition to her work in athletics, she works with children of all ages with special needs, bringing a patient, supportive, and inclusive approach to coaching.
Williams currently serves as the Head Women’s and Men’s Volleyball Coach at Middlesex College in Edison, New Jersey. A native of Roselle, New Jersey, and former volleyball player at Roselle Catholic High School, she previously served as a strength and conditioning coach at Abraham Clark High School and as Head Volleyball Coach at Immaculate Conception High School.
As a collegiate athlete, Williams competed for four years on the women’s volleyball team at Mitchell College. Beginning her career as a middle blocker, she developed into a versatile all-around player by her senior season. She also served as a team captain for two years, earning recognition for her leadership, work ethic, and commitment to supporting her teammates both on and off the court.
Williams first discovered volleyball in seventh grade and has remained passionate about the sport ever since. She credits her communications background for shaping her coaching philosophy and approach to team culture. Believing that strong communication is the foundation of success, she emphasizes accountability, teamwork, and personal growth in every athlete she coaches.
Her message to players is simple: challenges are opportunities to learn and improve. She encourages athletes to embrace adversity, learn from mistakes, and continually strive to reach their goals both on and off the court.
