My favorite sports event/moment/memory is…. when I fell in love with the sport of tennis watching the Masters Event in 2004 at home in Houston, Texas. Looking back now, I realize how special of a week that was for me to watch players like a young Roger Federer along with my childhood idols, Andy Roddick and Lleyton Hewitt. Agassi and Nalbandian were there as well. That week sparked the fuse for the next 16 years of my tennis career.
Coach McBride spent several years grinding the lower ranks of the ATP tour, on the Futures and Challengers circuit. Reaching a career high of 1400 ATP and having his best professional result come in 2019, when he reached the semifinals in a 15k event in El Salvador. McBride also spent the summer of 2018 in France playing in the French Tennis League. His traveling the globe and getting to see first-hand the different ways countries and parts of the world go about training their players is what he attributes to the key in shaping him into the successful coach that he is today. Additionally, Coach McBride has been fortunate to be hitting partners at various ATP events. McBride shared priceless time on court with players like Bob and Mike Bryan, Juan Monaco, Feliciano Lopez, Steve Johnson and many more.
McBride has coached a variety of junior players including an up and coming junior who rose from #1 in Texas to becoming #1 in the nation in both the 12s and 14s. Ove the two years working with McBride, this player also reached the semi-finals of Le Petit.
