My favorite sports event/memory/moment is ... when I received the news that I was named the first All-American in DelVal softball history after my junior season. This was something that I dreamed about since a very young age and a goal many people told me was “impossible.” This made me work harder and motivated me to the point where I was not only named an All-American my junior year but also capped off my career with being recognized as a 2X All-American.
Coach Stefani played 4 years at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pa. where she was named a 2 time All-American for being a standout pitcher and hitter. This honor caps the most decorated career by any player in program history as Coach Stefani became the first DelVal softball All-American when she earned the distinction for her 2018 season.
Her career highlights also include three-time Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom first team honors, one MAC Freedom honorable mention nod, four-time MAC Academic Honor Roll, CoSIDA First Team All-District, Three time MAC Sportsmanship Team, and the DelVal Frank Wolfgang Scholar Athlete Award for outstanding female scholar/athlete. A four-year team captain, Coach Stefani is the program's all-time leader in hits (167), on-base percentage (.549), batting (.473), games pitched (96), games won (38), and strikeouts (457), and holds single-season marks in on-base percentage (.608), games pitched (27), games won (11), and strikeouts (125).
A leader at the plate and in the circle, Coach Stefani finished her senior season at the dish with the third-best on-base percentage (.598) in all of Division III, the tenth best batting average (.500), and her .776 slugging percentage also ranked inside the top-50 in the country (43rd). She added 49 hits, 26 RBI, 24 walks, 10 doubles, five home runs, and three stolen bases while only striking out five times during her senior season at DelVal. In the circle, she led the league in strikeouts with a career-best 125, and complete games (20).
Coach Stefani graduated Delaware Valley University with a Bachelor of Science in May of 2019 and is currently working towards obtaining her Masters of Business Administration degree while instructing pitching and hitting at DVU as their assistant coach.
