My favorite sports event/memory/moment is… in 2011 my coach made me run for half of the tennis practice. At the time I was upset and I asked my coach why he made me run. My coach said that he knew I could handle it and that hard work does not come easy. He handed me two tennis books to read: “The Mental Side of Tennis” and “Open”. He explained his philosophy that the only obstacle to the game is ourselves. My perspective on tennis took a complete turn as I learned this valuable lesson from him.
Coach Elsamahi trained at Centercourt Mount Olive where he trained with coaches with tennis knowledge from all over the world. Elsamahi worked towards his goals, rain or shine. His team would shovel snow for hours to play. His team was persistent and grateful for any chance to get on the courts. Coach Elsamahi would lead Mount Olive to two championships.
Coach Elsamahi plays for Baruch College in New York City and is studying International Marketing.
