Beginning in the Fall of 2016, the current Athletic Skill Development program will expand off the courts and into the new Junior Athlete Zone located next to the entrances to the indoor tennis courts in Centercourt Athletic Club of Chatham.

The Junior Athlete Zone offers areas for gymnastics, field turf training, and rock wall climbing. This program will focus on the following areas:

1. Strength, Balance and Body Awareness using gymnastics • The program will take athletes through a series of body weight strength motions, basic tumbling, and balance work. Athletes will use equipment like cheese mats, hexagon rollers, and balance beams.

2. Agility, Speed and Footwork on field turf • Athletes will learn all the fundamentals of footwork and speed using cone drills, speed ladders, and low hurdles.

3. Climbing • Athletes will use our brand new rock wall to learn and gain both upper body strength and proprioception through the total body coordination needed to transverse the wall.

Athletes in Red Ball Edge and Orange Ball Edge will gain an additional 30 minutes of training per clinic day. The cost of this program is included in the clinic price and you may choose to participate on the same day of your clinic or an additional day based on the following schedule.

Monday-Friday: 4:00 – 4:30 PM, 4:30 – 5:00p PM & 5:00 – 5:30 PM
Saturday: 12:30 – 1:00 PM, 1:00 – 1:30 PM, 1:30 – 2:00 PM & 2:30 – 3:00 PM
